Effect of the impurities O2 or NO present in non-purified flue gas from oxy-fuel combustion processes for carbon capture and storage technology

چکیده
CO2/impurities cocapture in CCS technology allows reducing the purification costs and avoiding emission of pollutants into atmosphere. The viability transport by pipeline geological storage non-purified flue gas from oxy-fuel combustion biomass other processes, keeping impurities O2 or NO stream along with CO2, is assessed considering thermodynamic hydraulic aspects. For this, we experimentally determined, under conditions, density, vapor-liquid equilibrium, speed sound three CO2 + mixtures as binary models gas, calculated their Joule-Thomson coefficients experimental data. Additionally, compared values for determined properties using equations state EOS-CG, GERG-2008 PC-SAFT to our results O2, validating all this system. mixtures, only could be applied, which was also validated parameters obtained work. Finally, several selected data concluded that both have negative effects on steps technology, are negligible case investigated concentrations.

Effects of nitrogen content in fuel on NOX emissions under oxy-fuel coal combustion
Oxy-fuel coal combustion with flue gas re-circulation is known to be one of the most promising methods for reducing CO2 emissions from coal combustion power plants. In the oxy-fuel system, the combustion atmosphere consists of only O2 separated from air and flue gas re-circulated from a stack. Therefore, the flue gas is dominated by CO2 without any nitrogen gas. The most attractive potential as...
متن کاملA comprehensive evaluation of the influence of air combustion and oxy-fuel combustion flue gas constituents on Hg(0) re-emission in WFGD systems.
This paper evaluates the influence of the main constituents of flue gases from coal combustion (CO2, O2, N2 and water vapor), in air and oxy-fuel combustion conditions on the re-emission of Hg(0) in wet scrubbers. It was observed that the concentration of water vapor does not affect the re-emission of mercury, whereas O2 and CO2 have a notable influence. High concentrations of O2 in the flue ga...

Glossary Carbon sequestration: capture and secure storage of carbon that would otherwise be emitted to or remain in the atmosphere. Carbon sources: for this chapter, we are concerned with large stationary sources of CO2, e.g. fossil fueled power plants, cement manufacturing, ammonia production, iron and non-ferrous metal smelters, industrial boilers, refineries, natural gas wells. Carbon captur...
متن کاملEnergy Savings Potential through Waste Heat Recovery from Flue Gas for Post Combustion Co2 Capture
Flue gas from a plant using fossil fuels contains CO2. Thus power/process plants using fossil fuels contribute to climate change if CO2 in flue gas is not captured. The process of CO2 capture from flue gas is called „postcombustion‟ CO2 capture. Existing plants may be retrofitted with this process to minimize CO2 emission. Amine solutions are mostly used for this process to scrub the flue gas. ...
